Welcome to the website of LB STUD
Welcome to L.B. Stud, set in 30,000m2 of farmland, in the valley between the villages of Valldemossa and Esporles, renowned for their beauty and splendour. The stud is to be found within the premises of the Agroturismo Alfatx. L.B. Stud is the result of nurturing a dream, a dream of producing top competition horses for dressage. Traditionally, warmbloods have been used for this purpose. At L.B. Stud, we recognise the success that these breeds have had in competitions. One of our aims is also to continue in this line or tradition of breeding. However, we cannot forget the results that the National Spanish dressage team have had at the WEG in Jerez or at the Europeans in England, which was partly as a direct consequence of the introduction of Spanish horses to the sport. Thus, at the stud, we acknowledge the need to produce PRE (Spanish horses) not only for their beauty and for their temperament, but also for their ability and aestheticism, to be used at any level of the sport, by either professionals or amateurs, both having an equally enjoyable experience.
At present, our facilities include 11 individual fields, but also a number of bigger fields to be used by horse owners that like to keep their horses in a herd, with running water and a sand arena of 20x 40. In the nearby future, we hope to enlarge our facilities in order to accommodate three arenas, including a competition arena and a lounging arena, twenty boxes, more fields and other outbuildings for the well being of our horses.
We also have in mind, to assign an area with a selection for sale, where an experienced member of staff will guide you through the somewhat difficult task of buying a horse, as well as an area for some top stallions to be used for breeding and training facilities. In the field of training, our aim is to provide a base for top trainers to give clinics or seminars.

At 24 years old, and currently at her final years of reading English Philology at the Universitat de les Illes Balears, Louise Berrio has been a member of the Spanish Young Rider Dressage team at the Europeans in Iserlohn (Germany) and other international shows. She has won several titles in the Balearic Dressage Championships, ranging from Young Horse Classes up to Young Riders. While she was studying in England for her A-Levels, she passed the Stage 1 of the British Horse Society. Louise’s understanding of the horse world has been enriched by her experience as a working pupil to Olympic rider Vicky Thompson, Karen Nyjvelt (Staal Belvedere) and Adam Kemp.
